Ards, Bangor and Donaghadee prepare for new rugby season

Ards 22 : 10 Bangor

Ards first run-out of the season against newly promoted Bangor on Friday night was a fiercely competitive affair and certainly not for the faint hearted.

With bragging rites at stake, both teams had more than a point to prove. The game, split over four 20 minute quarters with rolling subs, gave ample opportunity for all players to show their worth and make a claim for the various vacant positions on offer in the senior squad.

Donaghadee 0 : 22 Ards

With an almost completely different squad, Ards second run-out against Donaghadee on Saturday, was also an abrasive affair, as both sides battled to gain the upper hand

Ards won the game with a try in all four quarters, but both clubs will have been satisfied by many aspects of their respective games.

Try of the day was then scored by Chris Agnew as he weaved his magic on his way through the opposition ranks, to touch down close to the posts.
